Letterboxing (akin to geocaching) is a recent import to the United States from the Dartmoor area of Great Britain.

A letterbox is a small, waterproof container holding a journal and rubber stamp. These letterboxes are hidden throughout the United States, waiting for you to find them.

Take your own personal stamp and journal, follow the clues, find the box. Stamp the box's journal with your stamp, and stamp your journal with the box's stamp.
